Roundtail Straight ("the app", "we", "us") is a personal behavior-change app for iPhone. You write your own short reminders, and the app resurfaces them across your home screen, lock screen, StandBy, and notifications. The short version: your reflections stay on your device and in your own iCloud — we never see them.
The data you create
Everything you type into Roundtail Straight — your thoughts, reflections, help-counts, and settings — is stored:
- On your device, and
- In your own private iCloud account, if you have iCloud enabled, so it can sync to and back up across your devices.
This data is yours. It is synced through Apple's iCloud using a private database tied to your Apple Account. We have no servers and no access to this content. We cannot read, collect, or recover your reflections.
What we collect
Nothing.
Roundtail Straight has:
- No user accounts and no sign-up.
- No application servers or third-party backend.
- No analytics, tracking, advertising, or third-party SDKs that send data off your device.
- No collection of your location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers for our use.
We do not collect, store, see, sell, rent, or share your personal information, because we never receive it in the first place.
iCloud sync
If iCloud is enabled on your device, your data syncs through Apple's iCloud service. That sync is handled entirely by Apple between your own devices and your own iCloud account. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can disable iCloud sync for the app at any time in your device's iCloud settings, in which case your data stays only on that device.
Notifications
The app can show reminder notifications. These are scheduled and delivered locally on your device by iOS. The content of a notification is one of your own reflections. We do not operate a push server and do not transmit your reflections to deliver notifications.
Face ID / passcode
If you choose to lock the app, authentication uses your device's built-in Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode. This happens entirely on-device through iOS. We never receive your biometric data — Apple does not expose it to apps.
Children's privacy
The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. Because nothing is collected or transmitted to us, there is no personal data of a child (or any user) for us to hold.
Third parties
There are no third-party services embedded in the app for analytics, advertising, or data sharing. The only external party involved is Apple, solely for iCloud sync and local notification delivery, under Apple's own privacy policy.
Your rights and control
Because your data lives only on your device and in your iCloud:
- Delete any reflection inside the app, or delete the app, to remove its on-device data.
- Manage iCloud copies through your device's iCloud storage settings.
- There is no account to close and no server-side data of yours for us to delete.
License agreement (EULA)
Your use of Roundtail Straight is governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
